Tours

In addition to our weekend drop-in tours, Art for Lunch tours, and special tours with artists and curators, we also offer private guided tours for adults. Group tours for Dalí Up Close are available in Spanish upon request.

Two weeks notice is required for booking private guided tours. The cost for tours is $40.00 plus regular gallery admission. To book a private tour, or for more information, please call 204.789.1290.

Tour: Baker Lake Carvings with Dr. Stephen Borys

Wednesday February 4 at 12pm

Join WAG Director and CEO for a fascinating look at this stunning exhibition featuring the carvings of twelve Baker Lake artists whose careers span the last five decades, the earliest piece from 1960 and the most recent from 2002.

 

Tour: Yesterday and Today by Elisapee Ishulutaq with Darlene Wright

Wednesday February 18 at 12pm

Enjoy an enlightening tour with Inuit curator, Darlene Coward Wright, highlighting a newly commissioned mural by Inuit artist, Elisapee Ishulutaq-recently honored as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2013. The 20 foot mural entitled, Yesterday and Today, was commissioned by the WAG in October 2014 when Darlene Coward Wight travelled to Pangnirtung, Nunuvut to take art supplies and work with the 90 year old artist for a week.

 

Tour: L.L. FitzGerald’s Impressionist Decade, 1910-1920 with Andrew Kear

Join WAG curator of Canadian Historical Art for an enlightening tour of the exhibition, L.L. FitzGerald’s Impressionist Decade, 1910-1920. The exhibition highlights a selection of figure studies, industrial scenes, and landscapes—paintings, drawings, and prints—created by the highly celebrated Manitoba artist during the first decade of his professional career.

 

Tour: Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin with Angeliki Bogiatji

Wednesday April 29 at 12pm

Enjoy an inspiring tour of this monumental exhibition of ancient Greek and Roman art, the first of its kind in Canada! Dating from the 5th century BC to the 2nd century AD, Olympus features 160 magnificent treasures from the  Staatliche Museen zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz (National Museums in Berlin - Prussian Cultural Heritage) classical antiquities collection including marble and bronze statues and reliefs, terracotta vases and jewellery presented through the theme of gods and goddesses.
