NEW! 20 week Drawing Class

(Sept 23-Dec 9 and Jan 6 -March 17)

When most people think about art,
particularly drawing and painting, they
think about the classical and realistic styles
championed by the pre-20th century art
academies of Europe. Academic drawing
remains an incredibly valuable method
for developing hand-eye coordination,
visual acuity, sensitivity, and dexterity
with materials that transfer well to other
art practices such as charcoal and pencil.
Skill development takes time and patience.
To learn thoroughly requires commitment.
Immerse yourself in the fundamentals of
drawing over 20 weeks, as opposed to our
regular 10-week courses. You will spend
more time on drawings and work towards
greater facility, subtlety, clarity, and elegance.
The materials and subjects will be basic,
but this highly disciplined approach will
be rewarded by the depth of the skill you
acquire.
