Talk: Math and Art Presentation by Dr. Irene Naested
Sunday April 6 at 2pm
Dr. Irene Naested from the Department of Education and Schooling at Calgary's Mount Royal University is a leading authority on the multi-disciplinary approach to teaching in the classroom. Her passion for visual art and its vial role in the education of young learners has resulted in a series of publications, including Art in the Classroom: An Integrated Approach to Teaching Art in Canadian Elementary and Middle Schools (2010).
Join Dr. Naested to learn about her latest co-authored publication, Exploring the Math and Art Connection: Teaching and Learning Between the Lines (2012), designed to encourage teachers to integrate visual art with other disciplines including mathematics. Select artworks from the Math + Art exhibition will be used to demonstrate the fascinating links that can be drawn between teaching the disciplines of math and art.
Talk: Exploring Sacred Geometry with Tim Rogalsky
Wednesday, April 9 from 12pm to 1pm
