Coffee and tea is provided. You're welcome to bring a bag lunch if a video is being screened. If the event that day is an exhibiton tour, we suggest you come early to eat your lunch since no food is allowed in the galleries. Talks and tours are included with Gallery admission. Video programs are free.
Talk: Architects Lola Shepherd and Mason White on Arctic Adaptations: Nunavut at 15

Join Mason White and Lola Shepherd from architecture firm Lateral Office to learn about the exhibition Arctic Adaptations: Nunavut at 15. First presented as Canada’s official exhibition at the prestigious 2014 Venice Biennale in Architecture, the project surveys a century of Arctic architecture, an urbanizing present, and a projective near future of adaptive architecture in Nunavut.

Join WAG curator of Canadian Historical Art for an enlightening tour of the exhibition, L.L. FitzGerald’s Impressionist Decade, 1910-1920. The exhibition highlights a selection of figure studies, industrial scenes, and landscapes—paintings, drawings, and prints—created by the highly celebrated Manitoba artist during the first decade of his professional career.

Video: Special Edition - 2015 Architecture + Design Film Festival Screening

In anticipation of the arrival of the exhibition, Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin, the WAG is thrilled to offer a special screening of Secrets of the Parthenon in collaboration with the 2015 Architecture and Design Film Festival. This exciting episode from the Nova PBS Documentary Collection not only explores the Parthenon as an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece, Athenian democracy, Western civilization and one of the world's greatest cultural monuments, but highlights the current program of selective restoration and reconstruction carried out by The Greek Ministry of Culture to ensure the stability of the partially ruined structure.

Tour: Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin with Angeliki Bogiatji

Enjoy an inspiring tour of this monumental exhibition of ancient Greek and Roman art, the first of its kind in Canada! Dating from the 5th century BC to the 2nd century AD, Olympus features 160 magnificent treasures from the National Museums in Berlin classical antiquities collection including marble and bronze statues and reliefs, terracotta vases and jewellery presented through the theme of gods and goddesses.
