WAG Presents Diana McIntosh, Music In First Person
Distinctive. Original. Witty. Invocative. All these words describe Diana McIntosh’s active career as a composer and performer. Spend the afternoon with McIntosh on June 1, 2:30pm when she presents Music In First Person at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Eckhardt Hall.
Well known for her creative imagination, McIntosh has written music for almost all media, and maintains a busy performance schedule. She has performed throughout Canada, widely in the USA, and in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Portugal, and in Kenya, Africa.

McIntosh has been commissioned several times by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Rosebery Orchestra of London, England, CBC radio, New York New Music Ensemble, the Schnabel Duo of New York, The Royal College of Organists, the U.S. National Flute Association, the University of North Dakota Choir, and by prom¬inent soloists. Billed as a “Festival Favorite,” she has written for, and performed in many of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s New Music Festivals since their inception in 1990.
Currently, McIntosh is co-artistic director of Groundswell, Manitoba’s only series dedicated to presenting contemporary music. GroundSwell showcases diverse programming featuring everything from inspiring interpretations of 20th-century classics to exciting fusions of visual art, theatre, dance, and the written word.
