Walle Larsson Releases New CD at WAG’s Jazz on the Rooftop Concert

Incorporating elements of jazz funk and rhythm and blues, Walle Larsson's style captivates both new listeners and those more familiar with the smooth jazz style. In the last few years Larsson and his band have been riding a new wave of popularity performing their original brand of smooth jazz. Walle Larsson’s professional career has taken him from Montreal to Japan, sharing the stage with entertainment greats like Tony Bennett and Mel Torme. Larsson has released four albums over the last dozen years. Outside of his own releases, he has composed and produced music for a number of films (The Mulvaneys with Beau Bridges and Without a Word with Patrick Swayze) as well as special projects (The National Post commercials, two award-winning documentaries, and the Manitoba Hydro Summer Games Torch Run theme song). His current position as Entertainment Co-ordinator at Assiniboine Park has given his band the opportunity to perform with the likes of Liberty Silver, Les Sabler, Demo Cates, and others.
