Volunteers support WAG events, including Live on the Rooftop and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity: usher, work in the box office and backstage production, and coordinate band hospitality. Evening and matinée shifts available.
Every year the Gallery organizes major fundraising and special events, including Art & Soul and the Gallery Ball. Volunteers greet attendees, take registrations, hand out programs, sell raffle tickets, help with set-up, and various other activities.
If you enjoy art and working with children, join the dedicated team of Youth Programs volunteers! The WAG offers a variety of different programs to students ages 4 to 18. Volunteers must have some availability for tours during school hours and attend a two-hour training session every second Monday during the school year. Experience with children and some knowledge of art is desired, but comprehensive training will be provided.
Volunteers assist instructors with WAG Studio programs for children. Classes are held on Saturdays and tasks include setting up classrooms and materials, helping and supervising students, replenishing supplies, and assisting with cleanup. Enjoy the experience of working with children in an art-making setting and sharing in their enthusiasm for art.
Be in the centre of the action and support member events! Must be able to handle small amounts of cash and have knowledge of current and upcoming WAG programs and exhibits.
The Clara Lander Library holds more than 24,000 books and catalogues, and our archives date back prior to the Gallery's opening in 1912. Assist with maintaining this wonderful collection.
The Gallery Shop offers unique jewellery, ceramics, and fabric art, handmade by Manitoba and Canadian artists. If you enjoy meeting and working with the public and local artists, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!
