Even though the weather outside was dreary and rainy, things were very lively in the WAG on Sunday, May 6th. The gallery was full and buzzing with over 830 people enjoying the festivities of the Rockwell Family Sunday Pancake Breakfast!
Families donned their pajamas and settled in for a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. After they filled up on hotcakes, kids enjoyed a fun-filled interactive tour of American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell led by actress Daina Leitold. In the Response Zone, families were able to draw their own Saturday Evening Post cover and share their thoughts about Rockwell’s Four Freedoms. Families had a great time dressing up with props and consumes to create their own Saturday Evening Post covers where a professional photographer was on hand to photograph their masterpieces. In the afternoon, families boogied down to fantastic swing music in Gallery 6 with Will Bonness and his band. Kids also created their own vintage inspired accessories during the artist run workshop in the Studio.
The event was a great success and it was wonderful to see so many families interacting with the art and having a fantastic time. If you missed the event please be sure to join us next time!
