Help Trim the WAG’s Holiday Tree
Winnipeg, MB, November 18, 2013 Get your holiday season off to a wonderful start at the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s annual holiday tree-trimming party from 1:30 to 4pm on Sunday, December 1. The event is free.
It’s a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family. Warm up with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Bring your camera and take your picture with Santa. Play a host of holiday games. Enjoy live jazzy holiday tunes. Best of all, the WAG elves will be on hand to help you create your own artful Christmas and Hanukkah ornaments to hang on the tree. Make trimming the WAG’s tree part of your family’s holiday tradition!
As a special treat this year, the WAG is teaming up with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Filbert the Bear, the lovable mascot for their annual production of Nutcracker, will be on hand with his warm hugs and high-fives, along with a company ballerina who will autograph your Christmas ornament.
“The WAG’s tree-trimming party is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your family in a creative atmosphere,” says Art Educator Rachel Berg. “Attendance is increasing each year and we are very pleased to see that people are beginning to make it a regular part of their holiday celebrations.”
While the kids are playing, take time to visit the Gallery Shop which features a fabulous selection of handmade tree decorations, candles, one-of-a-kind gifts, and great activities for the whole family.
This event is sponsored by the Winnipeg Free Press.
