Last Fall the WAG partnered with Manito Ahbee Festival and Children of the Earth High School (COTE) to introduce the Aboriginal Arts Development Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a First Nation, Métis, or Inuit high school student attending COTE who is dedicated to the visual arts and shows strong academic performance. The scholarship offers the winning student, WAG art classes (plus supplies), a Premium Family Membership to the WAG, Winnipeg Transit passes to and from art classes, two Manito Ahbee Festival VIP passes, and a cash prize.

The WAG is pleased to announce this year's winner is Candy Berthelet! Candy is 17 and lives in Winnipeg with her sister, niece, and nephews. She is currently in 11th grade and has a very positive outlook on life. I can't wait to see the great artwork that Candy produces during her art classes!

From everyone at the WAG, Congratulations Candy!
