WAG Home Tour Visits South Headingley

The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s 7th annual home tour heads out of the city this year to explore five stunning designer homes in the peaceful country setting of South Headingley stretched along the Assiniboine River.

This self-guiding tour takes place from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, September 11. Your $30 guidebook gives you one admission to each of the five homes featured. They are available at the WAG, McNally Robinson Booksellers, The Garden Room, Envy Paint and Design, and Shelmerdine’s.

“It’s always fascinating to see into other peoples’ homes, particularly spectacular ones like these,” says WAG Director Stephen Borys. “Built to blend in with the landscape, these houses all boast enormous windows overlooking expansive grounds that are popular with grazing deer. Many of them have custom-crafted details like a dining room table made of reclaimed wood from Manitoba grain elevators or marble fireplaces salvaged from an old Tuxedo mansion.”

The Home Tour is a fundraising project of the Volunteer Associates of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. All proceeds are directed to the Gallery for exhibition sponsorship, works of art purchase, and art scholarships.
