Spring Break Art Camp

Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 2

Get creative with a new theme every day. Have fun making a masterpiece with a professional artist, experimenting with new art forms, playing active games, and seeing art in the galleries, including Through the Eyes of a Child, an exhibit featuring work by young WAG Studio students.

Sign up for individual days or the full week! 

Ages 6 to 12 • 9am-4pm (early drop off and late pick up from 8:30am-5pm)
Non-Members $50 per day • Members $45 per day

Monday • Sense-sational • Discover how artists use a whole range of colours, lines, and textures to appeal to our five senses.

Tuesday • Who Am I • Find picture in the Gallery to inspire your own self-portrait.

Wednesday • Fin, Fur, and Feathers • Hunt for animal art in the Gallery and go wild in the Studio creating an untamed work of your own.

Thursday • Myths, Heroes, and Monsters • In anticipation of the upcoming exhibition Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin, have a go creating your own mythological work of art.

Summer Art Camp

Monday, July 6 to Friday, August 21

Here’s your chance to make unique works of art with the help of talented camp artists. Get inspired by Olympus and through exciting field trips, stage your own mini-exhibition at the end of the week to show off your masterpiece!

Week-long • 9am-4pm (early drop off and late pick up from 8:30am-5pm)
ages 6-10 and 11-14
full week • $200 for members/$225 for non-members
short week of August 4 • $180 for members/$200 non-members

Choose from 3 exciting weekly themes:    
Myth Making Madness (ages 6-10) • Weeks of July 6 and August 10 • Do you have a favorite character, hero, or heroine? Have you ever explored ancient legends and mythical creatures? Discover the bizarre and often surprising stories behind fascinating works of art. Fabricate your own imaginative new character and wow your friends with its spellbinding story! 

Build Crew (ages 6-10) • Weeks of July 13 and August 4 (short week) • Attention young builders! Go on an art quest looking for hidden LEGO* creations throughout the Gallery. Head outside to check out some of Winnipeg’s finest architecture on exciting field trips and get inspired to build your own creation using LEGO* and other unique construction materials.

Claytastic! (ages 6-10) • Week of July 20 • Do you have busy hands that just can’t stop touching and feeling everything? Keep them busy by molding your very own clay creations. Go on unique fieldtrips to learn all about clay - where it comes from, how it’s made, and what you can do with it. Go ahead, make your mark in clay.

Mythbusters (ages 11-14) • Week of July 27 • Immerse yourself in the mythology of ancient Greece and explore the heroes, beasts, and mortals through legends that have transcended time. Discover how the characters you know from books and movies have links to ancient Greek culture and create your own tale through drama and art.

Fire It Up! (ages 11-14) • Week of August 17 • Discover incredible clay creations made in antiquity. Get inspired by Greek and Roman works of art and create your own masterpiece with the help of a professional clay artist.
