Art Eats Offers Dinner at Storm Bistro and a Winnipeg Art Gallery Exhibition Tour
Looking for a different night out? How about a delicious dinner in a rooftop restaurant followed by a tour of an art exhibition? The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Art Eats offers a three-course dinner at Storm Bistro, followed by a tour of the exhibition Creation & Transformation: Defining Moments in Inuit Art, an exhibition that spans half-a-century of Inuit art.
It takes place from 6 to 9pm on Friday, February 8 and Friday, March 1. Tickets for Art Eats are $40 for WAG members and $45 for non-members. Gratuity is included although wine and spirits are not.
For a more in-depth and specialized look at Creation & Transformation: Defining Moments in Inuit Art, join Darlene Coward Wight, Curator of Inuit Art, for an Art Eats Special on Friday, February 22 or Friday, March 22. Tickets for the Art Eats Special are $45 for WAG members and $50 for non-members.
“The Winnipeg Art Gallery has been collecting Inuit art since 1957,” says Wight, “and we are now home to the largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art in the world. This exhibition contains 115 works—sculpture, prints, drawings, and textile art—from all areas of the Arctic. It explores the growth of Inuit art since 1949, the artistic developments, the influential artists and artistic advisors, the new media explored—all the things that have shaped and transformed the art over six decades.”
Tickets are available online at wag.ca; by calling 204.786.6641, ext. 227; or by emailing email@example.com.
Previous Art Eats programs have sold out, so early purchase is advised.
Art Eats offers a fixed menu which is posted in advance at wag.ca. Anyone who has dietary issues or restrictions should contact Storm Bistro at 204.948.0085.
