WAG’s Gallery Ball 2014 Sold Out

Winnipeg, Manitoba, October 17, 2014: The Winnipeg Art Gallery is pleased to announce that the Gallery Ball on Saturday, October 18, 2014, is sold out! As the WAG’s premier black-tie event, the Gallery Ball is a rare opportunity to dine in the permanent collection galleries in support of youth programs.

“From art classes and school visits to Family Sundays and summer art camps, WAG programs inspire thousands of young Manitobans every year,” says WAG Director & CEO Dr. Stephen Borys. “It is wonderful that the Gallery Ball has sold out again this year. The money raised from just one ticket purchase enables 43 kids to visit the WAG!”

With exciting live and silent auctions, delectable cuisine, a mouth-watering Dessert Gallery, art-inspired floral décor, musical entertainment by soul and funk band The Solutions, and after-dinner dancing, this year’s Gallery Ball features two fall blockbuster exhibitions, Dalí Up Close and Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, as well as a new installation, Vienna, by award-winning contemporary artist Brian Jungen, which is on loan from the National Gallery of Canada through the NGC@WAG partnership.

“The Gallery Ball is an elegant, fun evening in support of a great cause,” says David Carr, Co-Chair of the 2014 Gallery Ball Committee. “We are grateful to this year’s sponsors and auction donors – in particular our Presenting Sponsor, 1832 Asset Management – whose generosity makes the event possible. And we couldn’t have done it without our fabulous organizing committee!”
