New Family Fusion Days at WAG

Winnipeg, Manitoba, January 14, 2016: The Winnipeg Art Gallery is excited to present Family Fusion days, a new series of monthly events featuring fun, creative activities. Ignite your imagination with a visit to the galleries. Get interactive with the Art Adventure guide. Top off the afternoon with a visit to WAG Studio for a hands-on craft workshop!

Drop in January 17 and make mini-vases using self-hardening clay. On February 14, create collaged Aphrodite valentines fit for the goddess of love. Find inspiration for both crafts from the stunning terracotta vases and marble sculptures in the Olympus exhibition, on view until March 6.

“WAG’s Family Fusion days are a great way to spend some creative time together,” states Rachel Baerg, WAG Head of Education. “Whether you’re in the galleries experiencing art, or in the studio making crafts, these monthly events are both fun and affordable!”

Two Family Fusion events are planned during spring break: Recycled Robots on March 29 and Gallery Games with LEGO® on April 1. For details on these and more upcoming dates, visit wag.ca/family

Recommended for families with children of all ages and all events are drop-in between 1pm and 3pm. $20 per family/$10 per family for WAG members (2 adults and up to 4 children under 18). Cost includes admission to permanent collection galleries. Meet the Art Adventure Guide at the Admissions Desk at the WAG ( 300 Memorial Blvd).
