Summer Rooftop Pop-Ups and Paint Parties at WAG

Winnipeg, Manitoba, June 28, 2017: The Winnipeg Art Gallery is the place to be this summer for a lively mix of summer events. Have a drink on one of the city’s best rooftops with scavenger hunts, live music, and film screenings, or enjoy a paint party inspired by Picasso and other artists. Tickets are available at wag.ca/events.

June 29 • The Great Scavenger Hunt: Picasso & the WAG Collection
8-11pm; cash bar
Join us for a night of Picasso and play! Bring your friends for a night of strategy and sleuthing in the galleries. Between team challenges grab a snack and cocktail on the rooftop patio.
$25/person

July 20 • Rooftop Concert: Close Talker
Doors at 9pm; event 10pm-2am; cash bar
Live from the top of the WAG, join us for a performance by Indie-rockers Close Talker. Will Quiring (vocals, guitar), Matthew Kopperud (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Olson (vocals, bass), and Chris Morien (vocals, drums) of the Saskatoon-based band are known for edgy vocals, gentle piano lines, and orchestral ambition. Guest performance by Winnipeg Electro-R&B trio ATLAAS.
$15/person

August 3 • Paint Party: Mix+Match Mini Paintings
7-9:30pm; cash bar
Try out a bunch of different painting styles! Create several artworks on canvas inspired by Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, and Gabby O’Connor.
$50/person • $45 for WAG members or over two tickets

August 24 • Skyline Screening: The Three Worlds of Nick
Doors at 8pm; event 9-11pm; cash bar
A celebrated trilogy of films by Canadian filmmaker John Paizs. The Three Worlds of Nick pays homage to pop culture influence through the use of a 1950’s cinematic style. Bring a blanket and cozy up under the stars, and some cash for snacks as you watch.
$15/person
