Drinking Horn

Covered drinking horn supported by two front four-claw bird legs, each surmounted by a cast bird decoration. The third support is in the form of a plain scroll. The terminal of the horn is surmounted by a cast rooster. The two front legs ressemble those of a rooster but the cast bird is unrelated. Various decorative banding engraved with entwined serpents. Gilded interior. Rim of horn is in everted turned-over form. The domed cover has various decorative banding, including raised circles, serpents. Stepped finial, with three waisted levels in decreasing size.
