Le Geste Qui Cache
Work consists of black and white photographs on six painted panels with bronze text. Each photograph depicts the same standing, nude woman, in a slightly different pose, against a background of horizontal, white, lines. Although each pose is different, in all of the photographs she is hiding her genitals and her face. The lower portion of each panel is painted red and in the centre of this red area is bronze text. The text as it appears on the panels is as follows: (a) ASSEMBLEE (b) FAMILLE (c) BOURSE (d) MUSEE (e) AUTEL (f) ACADEMIE [note: there are no accents on the ‘e’s]

Work depicts a man being held aloft by several semi-nude men, in mid-air. To the right is a steer and at the extreme right is a shrouded figure, in mid-air, hovering over a man crouched on the ground with his hands over his head. Panel a depicts the legs of the men who are holding the man aloft and the head of the man being held. Panel b depicts upper bodies only of several of the men, together with the legs of one of the figures. Panel c depicts a hand and a foot of two of the figures together with the steer which is at the bottom right. Panel d depicts the shrouded figure and man.

I awoke to find my spirit had returned
A woman (Rosalie Favell) in contemporary clothing laying in a bed, covered in a Hudson’s Bay blanket, awakes. On the wall above her bed is a picture of Xena, the warrior princess. Looking through an open window behind her is Louis Riel. By her bedside, four men and a woman in historical clothing look on. The artist and blanket are rendered in colour; the balance of the image is in black and white.
500 Year Itch
Three individual, full-length photographs of a woman, from left to right as follows: (1) Hand-coloured photograph of a woman wearing a blonde wig and a sleeveless, low-cut white dress with a full skirt, à la Marilyn Monroe. On the floor is a fan which has been positioned under her dress causing it to billow out. (2) Sepia-toned photograph of a woman in a back yard. Behind her is a clothes line and a fence. Her clothing appears to be c. 1940s. (3) Black and white photograph of a barefoot woman wearing glasses and dressed in a contemporary shirt and trousers. There are deliberate, round perforations in the mat.
