Maplewish Mosaic / Mosaïque Souhait d’Érable

SEPTEMBER 30, 2016-SEPTEMBER 25, 2017

We have powerful dreams. Our collective imagination is a source of hope, direction and inspiration to unlock a prosperous future. In celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017, the WAG and TakingITGlobal present  Maplewish Mosaic. The project brings together wood pieces painted by thirteen different artists and collectives, one from each province and territory, to form a diverse Canada 150 mosaic. We are presenting the work of emerging artists that are looking forward towards the future of their communities. They have the opportunity to creatively express their identity, the aesthetic of their community, and their wish for Canada in the next 150 years. Now it’s your turn, what is your wish?

Artists/Artistes: Yamaan Alsumadi, Chance Angus, Thanda Lwin, Chinodin Neekan, Mesaquin Neekan, Kim Watts (Ontario); Felipe Bonilla (Nova Scotia); Cara Kansala (Newfoundland and Labrador); Ashley Anne Clark (Prince Edward Island); Matt Cardinal (Alberta); Jany Dussault Houle (Quebec); Emma Hassencahl (New Brunswick); Sandeep Johal (British Columbia); Larissa Kitchemonia (Saskatchewan); Rene Marriott (Manitoba); Shelton Nipisar/Cie Taqiasuk (Nunavut); Maya Rosenberg (Yukon); Jasmine Sangris (North West Territories).
