Approximate dimensions, 5 1/2 in. tall and 6 in. diameter. Featuring 3 plants – succulent/cacti combination, one granite stone, one quarts stone, moss, sand, soil, charcoal, and drainage stones. All materials and instructions provided.

Child and teen classes are structured to accommodate the abilities of different age levels. These fun-filled classes develop skills in various media, fostering creativity and imagination. (Ages 10-13) Animation

This course provides a beginners understanding of animation process and techniques. Students will work with claymation and then other styles of animation if time allows.   They will work on developing their own stories, characters, and designs to complete basic animation projects with emphasis placed on their individual creativity.  The course begins with some time spent on developing characters and backgrounds in order to eventually move to the animating stage of telling a short story.   Throughout the course a variety of animated films will be shown and discussed in order to deepen an understanding of animated film and what types of animation can be found, with emphasis on unique styles and techniques..  A DVD of students completed projects will be provided at the end of the session.

Take in the serenity of the galleries while you learn to draw the idealized human forms in this exhibition of ancient statuary. Learn how to analyze the human figure, determine proportions, and draw a convincing three-dimensional form. Interpretive and experimental approaches to observational drawing will also be explored. Develop your understanding of colour and its expressive potential for a variety of subjects: abstract and experimental drawing, still life, portraits, and landscapes. Learn fascinating facts about the history of pigments and the meanings of colours, as you acquire new observational skills and familiarize yourself with various drawing media. Because you will use wet as well as dry media, this class serves as a transition from drawing to painting.
