Children & Teens
Children’s and teens’ classes are structured to accommodate the abilities of different age levels. These classes develop skills in various media, fostering creativity and imagination. Artist instructors are paired with classes based on their understanding of materials used and sensitivity to the ages of the children. The Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions consist of 10 classes each on Saturdays or weekdays in the early evening.
Mixed Media 1 (5-6 years)
Ages 5–6 • You will work with a variety of materials which can include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, or printmaking. Projects may be layered, mixed, and occasionally take more than one class to complete. Instructors teach an understanding of many materials, unusual ideas, and great creativity.

You will explore different traditional styles of animation such as drawing, cell animation, cut out, and claymation and develop your own stories, characters, and designs to complete basic animation projects on CD. This program is presented with the assistance of the Manitoba Society for Independent Animators (MSIA).

Animation from Concept to Screening (1 day workshop for ages 13-17)
Chris Angus and John Tanasiciuk will lead you through The Art of Warner Brothers Cartoons exhibition to introduce various aspects of the animation process and to inspire your to create your own characters and story in one day! The workshop will end with a screening of participants’ work on the big screen in the Muriel Richardson Auditorium. All supplies are included in cost. Participants will also receive a DVD of the work produced in class
