First influenced by pop, punk and heavy metal, Keith Price discovered jazz at age fifteen through the intensity and spirituality of John Coltrane. At nineteen he began his formal studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Upon his return to Winnipeg, Price turned down a scholarship at New School University in New York City and opted instead to stay in Steve Kirby’s newly established jazz program at the University of Manitoba. He has also studied in Boston with renowned guitar guru Mick Goodrick.

Price and longtime band-mates Julian Bradford on bass and Curtis Nowosad on drums, have released two albums. 2011's Gaia/Goya peaked at #2 on the national jazz charts and 2009's Breakfast Of Champions was nominated for the TD Grand Prix Du Jazz and The Galaxie Rising Star Awards at the 2010 Montreal International Jazz Festival. Over the past seven years Price has played professionally with numerous local groups including The Ron Paley Big Band, the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, Artists In Health Care Manitoba, and Rainbow Stage Productions.
