WAG Your Flag for Canada

The WAG is celebrating our Canadian exhibitions this summer--and inviting you to be a part of it.

Put YOUR art on the wall of the WAG all summer long! Win a 3-day trip to the National Gallery of Canada and stay at the Chateau Laurier.

All your entries will be placed in a mosiac pattern to form the Canadian flag. The flag will be hung at our O CanadART Open House on Sunday, June 20, 2010 and the winner of the trip to Ottawa will be announced that day.

How to Enter:

1.  Be inspired by Canada!

2.  Using primarily the colour red, create your piece of art on an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper. Use paint,  crayons, or anything you have on hand.

3.  Send your entry by email. Scan your art work, or take a digital photo of it, and email to wagflag@wag.ca. Make sure the file is no bigger than 2MB and the resolution is at least 200dpi. OR, mail in your art to WAG Flag Contest, 300 Memorial Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1V1 (note that your art will not be returned).

4.  Your entry must include your FULL NAME, AGE, MAILING ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER. Deadline to enter: May 10, 2010.

Note: Must be 18 years or younger to enter.

 

Terms & Conditions

1. The winner of the contest will be pulled at random from the entries.
2. Artistic merit is not a factor in the awarding of the prize.
3. Every effort will be made to include all submitted art in the flag, but the WAG cannot guarantee this. Factors such as the quality of the scanned image may prevent a recreation of the submission.
4. The winner of the contest will be announced at the June 20, O CanadART Open House at the WAG.
5. The prize consists of a trip for two to fly with WestJet in economy class from Winnipeg to Ottawa. It includes a two-night stay at Ottawa’s Chateau Laurier, and free admission for two to the National Gallery of Canada. The trip must be completed by March 31, 2011.
6. The art must have been completed by a person 18 years of age or under.
7. The booking of the hotel and flights is the responsibility of the winner.
8. Contest entry is invalid without a name, age, address and phone number.
9. The flight: The prize trip is for 2 economy tickets on WestJet Airlines to Ottawa from Winnipeg. Seats are subject to availability. Booking must be made within 30 days of departure. Blackout dates include, but are not limited to, all long weekends and holidays. Once the tickets are issued, they are subject to the rules and regulations governing the fare. If the winner wishes to change the date of the tickets, it is the winner’s responsibility to pay for change fees or upgrades. The winner and travel companion must hold valid identification for air travel.
10. The hotel: The room bookings are subject to space availability and are based on double occupancy. Note there are a limited number of complimentary rooms that are allocated per night. The original certificate must be presented at the time of check-in. Gratuities and incidentals are not included. Bookings may not be made on major holidays, December 31, or on Winterlude Weekends. The booking is for the Chateau Laurier only and will not be accepted at any other Fairmont hotel.
11. This prize cannot be redeemed for cash and is void if sold, transferred, or conveyed for cash or any other consideration.
