Morocco and Southern Spain
Wednesday, April 14 to Thursday, April 29
Depart Madrid and follow in the steps of the Moors to Andalucia, a rich, cultured region whose unique monuments—the Alhambra in Granada, the mosque of Cordoba, and the Alcazar in Seville—are among the finest examples of Moorish architecture in the world. You’ll travel the famous “route of the white villages” to the coast of Costa del Sol, then make a ferry crossing of the Strait of Gibralter towards Tangier and Rabat, capital of the kingdom of Morocco. Explore other exotic and mysterious medieval cities including Casablanca, Marrakesh, Beni-Mellal, and Fez. Your final stop, before heading back to Madrid, is Toledo, the spiritual capital of Spain with its Gothic and Renaissance buildings. Your exploration of Madrid includes a city tour and visits to the Museo del Prado and the royal palace.
