Saturday, September 30 from 6pm to 4am
Unleash your inner night owl and head to the WAG for an epic Nuit Blanche celebration of contemporary art, music, dance, film, and more! This year’s festivities start with street-side installations from the INSURGENCE/RESURGENCE exhibit, leading you on a contemporary art journey throughout the Gallery. Dance to local DJs, see large-scale media works by VideoPool, and lots more. You can also find us at The Forks via ART EXPRESS’D / EXPRIMÉ, our mobile art studios that have just returned from their cross-Canada adventure.
ALL FREE • Pay $10 to skip the line (this line moves at the same pace, but is shorter!)
Don’t miss the groundbreaking exhibition INSURGENCE/RESURGENCE, bringing together 29 emerging-to-established Indigenous artists from across Canada who are pushing boundaries with their work. From tattooing and fashion to painting, sculpture, new media, and performance-based work, artists explore renewal and resurgence through an exciting range of interdisciplinary art, including site-specific work that responds to the design of the WAG building.
Enjoy large-scale new media works by Hamilton artist Matt Smith, and others in and outside the Gallery.
