Nuit Blanche 2016@WAG
Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 6pm to 4am
Stay up into the wee hours for an epic celebration of contemporary art with music, dance, film, and more! Explore art from the Arctic in Our Land, watch late-night screenings, dance to the live vibes and visuals of MEME, and create your own test tube terrarium with artist Brook Drabot. Next, head over to WAG Studio for body painting demos with Kim Brennan, and take part in creative workshops, including The Big Draw and Inuit hand tattoos.
ALL FREE • Pay $10 to skip the line for main building (this line moves at the same pace, but is shorter -- does not provide entry to WAG Studio events, which are accessible via a separate line)
New for Nuit Blanche weekend, check out Our Land: Contemporary Art from the Arctic, showcasing rarely seen treasures from the Government of Nunavut Fine Art Collections. Opening at 8pm, the Maplewish Mosaic is a nation-wide collaborative art installation celebrating Canada's 150th anniversary. Also on view: Karel Funk (last chance!), Qua’yuk tchi’gae’win: Making Good, Esther Warkov, and more.
