Art to Inspire
Thursday, March 8 to Thursday, May 17
Art to Inspire is a program designed to creatively engage people living with Alzheimer’s disease, or other forms of dementia, and their care partners with visual art. Developed in partnership by the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, and University of Manitoba College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
Led by specially trained art educators and teaching artists, Art to Inspire offers six stimulating afternoon sessions in the Gallery where participants can enjoy companionship and conversations, share stories, and explore ideas in a supportive setting. In looking at a variety of art centred on daily themes and engaging with works in different ways, the program aims to celebrate present-moment awareness and meaningful creative expression; offering hope for the future and a renewed sense of personal empowerment, wellbeing, and confidence.
Six week session: Alternate Thursdays 1:30-3pm
March 8, 22; April 5, 19; May 3, 17
Cost: $60 per pair (includes care partner)
