Culture Days is a three-day celebration of the arts, taking place not only in Manitoba, but in provinces nation-wide. The WAG joins the Manitoba Museum and others in hosting Nuit Blanche, an all night visual arts party on the Saturday night of this festival! Best of all--it's free!

8:45pm-midnight • Random live performances of Hybrid Human,a contemporary dance performance incorporating Koop's paintings, video projectons, and the choreography of Jolene Bailie, set against a sound piece by Susan Chafe and lighting design by Hugh Conacher
11pm-1am • FrancoWAG (Discovery Theatre)
Conférences en français avec des artistes francophones. A short series of artist talks by local francophone artists. Come discover the work of Dominique Rey, Denis Prieur, and Carol James.
11pm-1am • Poets’ Corner (gallery 2)
For your listening pleasure the WAG has got your local poets and playwrights cornered. Come and enjoy readings by Carmelo Militano, Debbie Calverley, Maurice Mierau, and Lori Cayer, as well as performances and dramatic readings by Andraea Sartison and Melanie Wright.
11pm-1:30am • Winnipeg Tarot Company (gallery 5)
Fortunes as they have never been told before. Conceived by Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan, a team of local artists will be on hand to read your future using a specially designed tarot deck complete with Winnipeg symbology illustrated by Bonnie Marin. Payment for the fortunes will be one story about Winnipeg. These tales will be audio recorded and posted to the website. Your card readers are Shawna Dempsey, Christine Fellows, Carolyn Grey, Ross McMillan, Sandee Moore, Maggie Nagle, Ian Ross, John K. Samson.

With Nova Cassan. Create a mask using e-waste, found objects and other bits and bytes.
12am-4am • Gr8Bits Show 1.2 (Skylight Gallery)
Winnipeg media artist mrghosty (Skot Deeming) presents a live interactive media art installation based on the culture and aesthetic of video games. The exhibit, which occurs on one night only as part of Nuit Blanche at the WAG, will feature live interactive works by Winnipeg artists Murray Toews, Cut Stickens, Decade Forward, Andrew Milne, Rylaan Gimby, and mrghosty. All artists will be in attendance to showcase their work.

A humdrum afternoon turns into a surrealist nightmare, as Alice passes through the looking glass to discover an exceedingly strange and sometimes creepy land behind the mirror. One of the most bizarre, and zany film versions of Alice in Wonderland, this classic from 1933 includes a wonderful cameo by Cary Grant as the Mock Turtle. Rated PG

A more recent cult favorite, Donnie Darko is a psychological thriller about a teenage boy who is menaced by apocalyptic visions featuring a rabbit named Frank. Rated 14A

1am-4am • DJ Mama Cutsworth (Eckhardt Hall)
One of the leading DJs on the Canadian prairies, Mama Cutsworth is no stranger to making folks flip on the old school funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, latin and disco. She’s known for spinning reggae remixes of classic Motown tunes, Afrobeat mashed up with swing, or blues samples overtop salsa music… within a single set!
4am-5:30am • Cyclist (Eckhardt Hall)
Cyclist is the DJ moniker for Winnipeg based musician/producer Mark Penner. After spending most of his life making dance music in various bands, including funk collective Moses Mayes and electro trio LeBeato, Mark started producing his own tracks and DJing in 2009.Cyclist's music is a sexy blend of disco, electro and house with the vibe ranging from bouncy party music to cosmic space beats.
