Isaac Bignell

Isaac Bignell was one of the most exciting Manitoba Aboriginal artists to emerge in the late 1970s. A Cree from The Pas located in the northern part of the province, Isaac combined traditional images with innovative design and colour combinations. Following in the Woodland style established by Benjamin Chee Chee and Clemence Wescoupe and basically a self-taught artist, Bignell experimented with various techniques to achieve his distinctive artistic style.
