100 Masters: Only in Canada is less than two weeks away and I am incredibly excited! Over 100 (ten works from the WAG's permanent collection are included in the exhibition) of the best works in public art collections from across Canada will all be under one roof at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone who comes to view the show.
What I am most delighted to see during this exhibition is the fantastic Canadian works. I was looking through the images of the works that are going to be in the exhibition and I was astonished at the quality of Canadian painting and sculpture... not astonished that the Canadian works were so fantastic but that I had never heard of these amazing artists before!
Here are a few of my favourites:
James William Morrice, La communiante (The Communicant), 1899
Jack Chambers, Mums, 1968-1971
