Student Art Board Painting Party Big Success!

Authored by: Student Art Board on March 28, 2011

Everyone had a terrific time at the WAG Student Art Board painting party on March 25.

The event was spectacular. There were adolescents from different places, and everyone got along quite well. I was involved in moving the huge group from the WAG to the Studio building, and interacting with the teens. In my opinion, the best part was how everyone was absorbed in their creativity, and made many distinct and amazing pieces of artwork. All in all, it was a great night! • Simran Seehra, Sisler High School

The painting party was a huge success! I feel that this accomplishment is a result of the careful planning and commitment from all the people that were involved in working very hard to make this event possible. Everyone that attended spoke very positively about the event and departed feeling pleased with the artworks that they created individually and also as collaborations. The atmosphere of the event was very vibrant and energetic, attracting youth from varying artistic backgrounds, allowing for an uninhibited environment to create, socialize, and discover a new appreciation for art! This colourful ambience was certainly evident in the artwork created, paintings of several different styles reflecting the variety of personalities that this event attracted. I look forward to planning further events with the WAG Student Art Board and hope that the future results will be just as phenomenal! • Tiffany Humble, St. John’s Ravenscourt

I helped set up and helped some guests with their questions about what had to be done. It was a new experience for me because it was more hands on than what other events were. • Danielle Eichler, Murdoch Mackay

"While I gave parts of the tour to the students, I observed how everyone was paying attention. Every student seemed to be inspired by the paintings or sculptures, there was something for everyone! From the novice to the most knowledgable ones!" •Ilana Elbaze
