Nunavik North of 60º goes virtual
Authored by: Darlene Coward Wight on April 27, 2011
It’s always satisfying to move a group of artworks out of storage vaults and into a new exhibition installation where they resonate in a new context. Unrelated works suddenly become part of a larger story and take on new meaning. This is the fun part of being a curator—being able to tell stories through art. The sad part is the end of the story when the exhibition is taken down. When the Inuit Art Foundation suggested that they create a virtual exhibition from Nunavik North of 60º as part of their larger Nunavik website, it was an exciting opportunity to have the show live on—virtually. The exhibition was launched as a website in mid-April--click here to see it. Enjoy!
