Instructor

Kendra Okrusko

Kendra Okrusko is a multidisciplinary artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art Honours from the University of Manitoba in 2014. Okrusko’s work stories of her heritage exploring what our memory holds and what we forget. Her multi-disciplinary practice includes printmaking, photography, ceramics, and painting. Okrusko’s continuing series Distorted Landscapes is an evolution focusing on what makes us who we are. This series started with a love of looking into her families’ history. She takes inspiration from her grandfather’s old photographic slides and distorts the original image to make it entirely new. This process allows us to cherish the fleeting moments that could be easily forgotten. To view samples of Okrusko’s work you can visit her website: kendraokrusko.com
