Presented by The Decolonizing Lens, join us for FREE screenings by Janine Windolph at the Winnipeg Art Gallery – Biindigin Biwaasaeyaah.

Please join us for a night of film and celebration to honour Atikamekw filmmaker, educator, and storyteller, Janine Windolph. We’ll be screening The Beacon Project: Stories Along the Qu’Appelle Valley (with Dianne Whelan), Stories Are in Our Bones, Life Givers, and works in progress. After the screening, join us for a discussion.

The event kicks off Janine’s tenure at the Centre for Creative Writing and Oral Culture at the University of Manitoba as Writer/Storyteller-In-Residence and is proudly hosted by Decolonizing Lens.

Janine Windolph

Janine Windolph is a filmmaker, educator, and storyteller who’s currently working at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity as Associate Director of Indigenous Arts. She was formerly the Curator of Community Engagement at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she also worked as a Storykeeper, Education Program Assistant and Curator of Public Programs. Janine teaches beading, visual arts, photography, filmmaking, writing, storytelling, and Indigenous symbols in schools, libraries, and non-profits.
