The Good Will and the WAG present JayWood!

Enjoy summer nights and amazing skyline views as you support local artists, performers, and other groups on the WAG’s stunning Rooftop Sculpture Garden!

Join us for this Rooftop Pop-Up on Thursday, July 16, as The Good Will and the WAG present JayWood with opening act Sebastian Gaskin!

Enhance your WAG Rooftop Retreat with a dinner from SMITH, the award-winning restaurant from Inn at the Forks. Inspired by the artists, performers and groups that will grace the WAG rooftop this summer, Executive Chef Barry Saunders has curated a selection of menus that are big on flavour and fun, using the best local suppliers.

For this event, choose between a hoisin-glazed shiitake mushroom and banh mi slaw bao bun or a shredded chicken thigh with pickled onion and spicy mayo bao bun, served with a miso and ginger dressed green salad! Cash bar featuring select beer, wine and specialty cocktails available.

*Please note, in the case of inclement weather, the event will relocate to an indoor space in the WAG and refunds will not be issued. For the latest updates, check this page.

JayWood is Jeremy Haywood-Smith from Winnipeg MB

What started as bedroom “sad jangle pop songs” just singing about how sad or miserable he was, things slowly started to change as time went on (both style and direction wise) into the more “psych funk” sound that is shown today! JayWood carries a unique sound that has been entirely self-taught, and manages to combine indie-pop with jazz chords and a psychedelic feel. His music is heart-felt and therapeutic at its core, but hosts a feel-good dance party at live performances.

”Electronic groove has shone brightly on JayWood, illuminating the multi-faceted sound with lightning bolts of funk, psych-rock and pop. Comfortable within these jumbled spaces, JayWood’s rhythm is ever-changing, but always consistently emerging triumphant!” – BIG FUN

His musical style is a blend of a handful of different genres ranging from: Funk, Indie pop, Jangle Jazz, Hip-Hop, Psych Rock, Shoegaze, Dreampop

Influences: Mac Demarco, King Krule, Tame Impala ,Nick Hakim, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jerry Paper etc
